FM Darchiashvili: new agreement with Saudi Arabia to elevate bilateral cooperation

Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, on Thursday claimed the recent agreement signed between Georgia and Saudi Arabia to establish an intergovernmental coordination council was poised to propel bilateral cooperation to new heights.
The implementation of this accord will involve several ministries, providing a “fresh impetus” to the relations between the two nations, the official said, and stressed Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud had highlighted the decision to create the council was made during the latest visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Saudi Arabia.
“This agreement marks a significant milestone in our positive relationship. There is a genuine opportunity to further strengthen and activate the existing cooperation between our countries,” stated Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Darchiashvili extended an invitation to his Saudi counterpart to visit Georgia. The initial meeting of the intergovernmental commission is scheduled to take place in Georgia, followed by annual meetings held alternately in each country.
“This arrangement provides an additional means to closely monitor and intensify the dynamics of our relations,” the FM added.
