Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has responded to the current tension at the Ukrainian  border and stated that threatening any country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is totally intolerable.

“Georgia stands in solidarity with Ukraine and Ukrainian people,” Zalkaliani tweeted.

The Georgian parliament has plans to adopt a resolution in support of Ukraine.

Russia demanded NATO to break its promise given to Georgia and Ukraine back in 2008 on future membership.

However, NATO says that it is a sovereign right of the countries to decide themselves on their future.

The US is considering sending troops to the Baltics and Eastern Europe amid the tension.
