FM Zalkaliani quits, appointed Georgia’s ambassador to US

Georgian Foreigh Minister David Zalkaliani has quit his post and he will be appointed the country’s ambassador to the US, PM Irakli Garibashvili stated earlier today. 

 

He claimed that the move aims to further upgrade the US-Georgia strategic partnership. 

 

Ilia Darchiashvili, who currently heads the Administration of the Government of Georgia, will replace Zalkaliani in the role. 

 

Zalkaliani has taken the post since 2018.
