Domestic media outlets on Friday named food asphyxiation, and not violence behind the death of a 12-year-old girl in Tbilisi on Thursday. 

 

The official results of the autopsy are expected to be aired in the coming days. 

 

Asphyxiation is when food or an object gets stuck in a human airway and blocks air from getting to lungs. 

 

Neighbors and relatives found unconscious 12-year-old Anna Ianushaitite early on Friday, around two o’clock, in the area turned into a garbage dump in the Didi Digomi district of Tbilisi. 

 

Family and neighbors searched for the teenager for several hours.
