Former head of Georgian Supreme Court Kote Kublashvili dies aged 50

Kote Kublashvili, who ran the Georgian Supreme Court for 10 years, between 2005-2015 under the United National Movement Government, has died aged 50 due to serious health issues, his family confirmed on Tuesday.
Kublashvili served as a member of the Council of Justice of Georgia in 2000, under the Government of the country’s second President Eduard Shevardnadze. He was appointed as the first Deputy Justice Minister and the body’s Parliamentary secretary between 2000-2002.
He also worked as a lawyer in the domestic firm Georgian Lawyers for Justice in 2002-2004, before appointing as a board member in the Development and Reforms Fund under the President of Georgia and then the director of the fund in 2004-2005.
