Former policeman sentenced to life imprisonment for murder of parents

Giorgi (Ducha) Berozashvili, a former policeman accused of assassination of his parents under aggravating circumstances, on Monday was sentenced to life imprisonment by Tbilisi City Court. 

The incident took place on April 27, last year, in a residential block in the Vazisubani district of Tbilisi, with the prosecutor’s office saying the offender had shot his sleeping parents and then set the apartment on fire to erase the traces of the crime. 

Berozashvili had been charged with premeditated murder in aggravated circumstances and illegal purchase and possession of firearms.
