This was "in the spirit" of President Ronald Reagan's 1983 speech, during which he called the USSR an "evil empire." During an interview, the current US president was asked if he considers Russian leader Vladimir Putin to be a murderer. And Joe Biden responded in the affirmative, given Russia's aggressive foreign policy and the Kremlin's increasingly violent domestic behavior.

Thus, the current US president took a position quite close to that of his predecessor. According to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Biden does not hide exactly what he accuses Putin of. And there are many crimes: the war in eastern Ukraine, the destruction of the passenger flight MH17, the bombing of hospitals in Syria, repression and physical violence against the Russian opposition.

Therefore, it is clear that Biden is not trying to make friends with the Russian ruler.
