The French National Assembly has passed a resolution expressing support for Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, while also condemning the Kremlin’s interference in the domestic affairs of Georgia, Romania and Moldova.
The resolution, passed on Wednesday, called for continued and enhanced military, political, and economic aid from the European Union (EU) and NATO to help Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression. French lawmakers emphasized the importance of standing with Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In addition to focusing on Ukraine, the resolution also addressed broader regional concerns, condemning Russia’s interference in the political processes of several neighboring countries. Specifically, it highlighted Russia’s efforts to manipulate elections in Georgia, Romania, and Moldova.
The resolution once again condemned Russia’s actions in Ukraine, reaffirming France’s firm stance against Moscow’s ongoing military aggression. Lawmakers also called on the EU and its member states to accelerate Ukraine’s accession to the Union, urging that the process be completed as soon as the country meets the necessary criteria.
