Friends, family name accidental shot as an alleged reason behind death of Vice Tbilisi Mayor

Family and friends say that an alleged reason behind the recent death of Vice Tbili Mayor Ilia Eloshvili could be an accidental shot during a regular cleaning of a weapon.

They said that Eloshvili bought the weapon several years ago, kept it at home legally and used to clean it from time to time.

The family members and friends suggested that Eloshvili had a busy schedule and planned a vacation with his family several hours before the fatal incident.

They claim that suicidde was “very unlikely.”

Eloshvili, 47, was found dead in his home early on Wednesday.

Police are looking into the case.
