Natia Mezvrishvili, the deputy chairwoman of the Gakharia For Georgia party, on Friday affirmed the party’s commitment to supporting opposition-led efforts, emphasizing both participation in rallies and assistance with electoral evidence gathering.
Speaking ahead of a planned opposition demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue on November 4, Mezvrishvili clarified her party’s stance on involvement.
“While I don’t foresee our supporters entering tents, we will follow our voters’ wishes. If they decide we should join rallies, we will heed that call,” Mezvrishvili told journalists, noting similar involvement at previous opposition gatherings.
Mezvrishvili underscored her party’s active role in coordinating with other opposition entities on election issues, including meetings and evidence collection. “We are helping the opposition to the fullest extent we can, whether gathering evidence or organizing logistics. Our primary aim is to protect votes and recover any that may have been unfairly taken. This is now our top priority.”
Mezvrishvili also highlighted a distinction in her party’s approach, stressing a line they would not cross, despite aligning with the broader opposition effort. “We have our own boundaries, though these do not conflict with the shared goal of safeguarding the democratic process,” she said.
Opposition leaders plan to announce a strategic action plan at the November 4 demonstration, scheduled for 19:00 on Rustaveli Avenue.
