Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze has stated that they will make a decision on the coronavirus vaccination of children above 12 in the coming days.

Gamkrelidze stated earlier today that two options are being discussed: to make all children above 12 eligible to vaccination, or only those who have certain health issues.

1,760,878 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country since March 2021, of which  785,850 have been completely vaccinated.

As of now, about 26 percent of the country’s adult population has been fully vaccinated.

Pfizer, Sinovac, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines are available in the country.
