Georgia and the Kyrgyz Republic have signed a memorandum aimed at expanding cooperation in the field of education during Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze's official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

The document was signed by First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Levan Garsiashvili and Deputy Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic Albert Makhmet Kulov.

The memorandum seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation in education, facilitate the exchange of experience and best practices, and promote the implementation of joint educational initiatives and projects, the government of Georgia press office said.

The agreement also provides for exchange programmes for students, teachers, researchers and experts, as well as closer partnerships between educational institutions in the two countries.

Officials said the initiative is intended to support deeper collaboration and the development of educational ties between Georgia and the Kyrgyz Republic.
