Georgia’s Central Criminal Police Department has arrested two individuals on charges of illegally acquiring, storing and facilitating the sale of particularly large quantities of narcotics, the Interior Ministry said.

According to the ministry, searches of the suspects’ homes and vehicles led to the seizure of nearly four litres of liquid containing the synthetic drug alpha-PVP, prepared for distribution, as well as 16 packaged doses of the same substance.

Police also confiscated materials used for packaging narcotics during the investigation.

The suspects are being investigated under Articles 260 and 260¹ of Georgia’s Criminal Code, offences that carry penalties of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
