Irakli Kobakhidze, the chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, expressed optimism about deepening the partnership between Georgia and the U.S. under the new ambassador.

Following a reception held by the new U.S. Ambassador at the Sheraton Hotel, Kobakhidze shared his hopes for a strong collaboration.

“We attended the reception of the U.S. Ambassador. We had a conversation, a meeting. We very much hope that the partnership between Georgia and the USA will seriously deepen under the new ambassador. We have a very solid basis for optimism and look forward to working closely with the new ambassador. We have every reason to be optimistic about further deepening our cooperation, and I am sure it will happen. We will do everything to establish close cooperation with the new ambassador, which is necessary to deepen our close partnership with the United States,” Kobakhidze stated.

The meeting, attended by representatives from various sectors, including government, parliamentary majority and opposition, the NGO sector, and religious denominations, was closed to the media.
