Head of the ruling Georgian Dream party Irakli Kobakhidze has commented on former president Mikheil Saakashvili’s presence in Tbilisi City Court yesterday and his speech and stated that the public saw a ‘former dictator who is unhappy of losing power.’

He stated that the public is well-aware of the ‘crimes committed by Saakashvili,’ and that the former president is still a threat to the country.

Saakashvili was taken to Tbilisi City Court yesterday to attend a trial hearing in a case concerning him, on the illegal dispersal of the opposition rally in central Tbilisi in November 2007.

The former president said that all seven charges against him ‘are invented,’ and that the country ‘has never had a criminal president.’
