Head of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party Irakli Kobakhidze says that ‘reconciliation’ is possible when people regret the sins or offences they made in the past.

“We do not see Saakashvili (former president) or other opposition members regret anything. Moreover, they are making threats,” Kobakhidze said.

He stated that the ‘radical opposition’ is demolishing which will allow the country ‘decrease polarization’ in the coming years.

Saakashvili, third president of Georgia who was arrested in Tbilisi on October 1, advised the Georgian Dream government yesterday to ‘act reasonably and take a step for national reconciliation.’

Otherwise, he said that the opposition’s protest will become more intense.

The opposition are demanding the release of Saakashvili and snap parliamentary elections.
