Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Geka Geladze has met the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Georgia, Anne Montavon.

The meeting focused on existing cooperation between Georgia and the International Committee of the Red Cross, with particular emphasis on the organisation’s humanitarian work in the country, GSSS said on Thursday.

The sides highlighted the ICRC’s support for people living in Georgia’s occupied territories and for individuals affected by the Russo-Georgian War.

During the meeting, Montavon also introduced Joanna Burton, who is expected to replace her in the near future as the organisation’s new representative in Georgia.
