Interior Minister visits MIA academy, hails police graduates, modern training methods

Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, has visited the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Academy, where he met with graduates of the basic police training program and reviewed the institution’s modern infrastructure and educational facilities, the MIA press office announced on Wednesday.
During the visit, Geladze congratulated the newly certified officers on completing their professional training and thanked them for choosing a career in law enforcement. He wished them success in their future work within the Ministry.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Shalva Tadumadze and was hosted by the Rector of the Academy, Lela Chikovani. The Rector introduced the visitors to the Academy’s main areas of activity, highlighting its professional training programs, modern teaching approaches, and efforts to integrate scientific and technological resources into the curriculum. Chikovani emphasized the importance of aligning training standards with the evolving challenges of the law enforcement field.
Geladze toured a number of key facilities at the Academy, including auditoriums for both theoretical and practical instruction, a forensic laboratory, examination halls, and advanced training zones such as closed, semi-open, and virtual shooting ranges used to enhance cadets’ operational readiness.
The Minister also visited the Academy's archive exhibition space, which preserves key documents related to the institution's history, and observed simulation-based instruction as well as physical training sessions for cadets.
