Georgian Interior Minister Geka Geladze on Saturday met with Lieutenant General Yaşar Kadıoğlu, Director of Assessment and Inspection of the Turkish Air Force, during the delegation’s visit to Georgia.

The MIA said Kadıoğlu led the Turkish delegation that arrived in Georgia after a Turkish military aircraft crashed near the Georgian border. Members of the delegation worked alongside Georgian counterparts on search-and-rescue operations and investigative efforts at the crash site.

The body added Kadıoğlu thanked Geladze for “effective” cooperation and coordination, noting that Georgian police units involved in the response demonstrated “a high level of professionalism and standards.”

The Turkish military aircraft crashed on November 11, approximately five kilometers from Georgia’s state border, killing 20 servicemen of the Turkish Air Force.
