Georgian, Hungarian Interior Ministers agree to deepen police cooperation

Georgia’s Interior Minister Geka Geladze is on an official visit to Budapest, where he met with his Hungarian counterpart Sándor Pintér to discuss strengthening cooperation in law enforcement.
According to the Georgian Interior Ministry’s press service, the ministers reviewed priority areas of collaboration, placing particular focus on sharing experience and best practices between the two countries’ police agencies.
As part of the talks, the sides agreed to establish a joint working group in the near future. The group will work on enhancing cooperation in key fields such as migration management, combating drug-related crime, and educational programs between the two nations’ police academies.
The meeting also underscored the importance of the longstanding friendly relations between Georgia and Hungary. Both ministers reaffirmed their readiness to further advance institutional cooperation.
At the conclusion of the visit, Geladze thanked Pintér for his hospitality and extended an invitation for him to pay a return visit to Georgia.
