Georgian Interior Minister visits police units of Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry

Georgian Interior Minister Geka Geladze on Sunday visited the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent Police Department, where he reviewed the infrastructure and operations of the police units as part of his official trip to the country.

The Georgian Interior Ministry said the Georgian delegation was hosted at the Uzbek Interior Ministry Academy by its head, Rustam Khatamov, who briefed the delegation on ongoing and implemented reforms in police education, as well as the institution’s structure and activities.

During the visit, Geladze highlighted the importance of police education and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field.

At the Tashkent Police Department, the Georgian Minister was introduced to the department’s operational specifics and the functions of its unified operations management centre, which coordinates policing activities across the capital.
