Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Geka Geladze, has conducted a series of working meetings in the Imereti region to assess ongoing efforts in crime prevention and public safety, the ministry said in a statement on Friday. 

During the visit, Geladze met with senior officials from the Imereti Police Department and the Patrol Police Department. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Minister was briefed in detail on crime trends in the region, including police response strategies and preventive measures.

Accompanied by First Deputy Minister Roland Meskhi and Deputy Minister Giorgi Butkhuzi, Geladze also toured key facilities, including the Security Police, the Emergency Situations Management Service, and the regional Expert-Forensic Service. The delegation inspected operational equipment, laboratories, and infrastructure.

As part of the visit, the Minister also met with officers from the Security Police and Patrol Police stationed at Kutaisi International Airport, expressing his gratitude for their effective service.
