Georgia’s Interior Minister meets police academy leadership to discuss reforms

The Ministry said special emphasis was placed on the academy’s role in the continuous professional development of law enforcement officers and in raising their qualifications

Georgia’s Interior Minister, Geka Geladze, has held a working meeting with the new rector of the Interior Ministry Academy, Giorgi Sakhokia, to discuss the institution’s strategic development and future priorities.
Geladze was joined by her deputy, Shalva Tadumadze, while Sakhokia presented the academy’s strategic plan, outlining new educational programmes, the progress of training processes and avenues for inter-agency cooperation.
The Ministry said special emphasis was placed on the academy’s role in the continuous professional development of law enforcement officers and in raising their qualifications.
The minister underlined that institutional development of the academy was among the ministry’s key priorities and pledged support for the introduction of programmes that meet international standards.
The meeting was also attended by vice rectors Giorgi Osadze, Imeta Makasarashvili and Sopio Abulashvili, along with senior heads of the academy’s departments.
