Georgia’s Interior Minister Geka Geladze has pledged to deepen cooperation with Turkish law enforcement agencies during an expanded-format meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Ali Yerlikaya, who is visiting Tbilisi on an official trip.

Geladze emphasised that Georgia was ready to continue working closely with Turkish colleagues to make existing mechanisms of collaboration more flexible and effective. Both sides also expressed their willingness to share experience and best practices between their agencies.

The meeting, attended by senior officials from both countries, included a wreath-laying ceremony at a memorial for police officers who died in the line of duty and the playing of the national anthems of Georgia and Turkey.

At the conclusion of the talks, Geladze thanked his Turkish counterpart for the productive cooperation between the two countries’ law enforcement bodies.
