Georgia allows Covid booster dose in three months from the second shot

The Georgian government has allowed the country’s citizens to receive the coronavirus vaccine  booster dose in three months in all cases as a new variant of coronavirus dubbed as Omicron is already circulating in the country. 

Georgians were able to get the booster dose in five months from the second shot of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine, while individuals were able to get the booster dose in three months if they were vaccinated with Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines. 

Georgia has reported 2,164 new cases of coronavirus, 3,767 recoveries and 68 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions were as follows: 

Tbilisi – 1,074 cases 

Adjara – 149 cases 

Imereti – 291 cases 

Kvemo Kartli – 89 cases 

Shida Kartli – 142 cases 

Guria – 79 cases 

Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 113 cases 

Kakheti – 111 cases 

Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 70 cases 

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 26 cases 

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 20 cases

1,267,354 individuals have got at least one shot of any vaccine in the country since March 2021, while 1,104,100 people have been fully vaccinated.
