Georgia, China visa free travel deal officially ratified

The agreement on visa-free travel between Georgia and China has been formally ratified on Wednesday.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Chou Tsien.
Darchiashvili emphasized the significance of the bilateral visa-free arrangement, citing its role in fostering friendship among peoples and bolstering economic cooperation between the two nations.
He elaborated that the agreement marked a milestone in enhancing the amicable ties and mutually advantageous collaboration between Georgia and China, facilitating increased people-to-people exchanges, tourism, cultural interactions, and trade-economic relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that the agreement signified the further consolidation of the strategic partnership forged between the two countries last year, underscoring its pivotal role as a tangible outcome of their mutual cooperation.
Upon its enactment, the agreement will enable Georgian citizens to visit the People’s Republic of China without the need for a visa, with a permissible stay of up to 30 days.
The agreement is slated to take effect following the completion of internal legal procedures by both states.
