The Georgian government is communicating with Pfizer to receive the coronavirus vaccine by the end of the first quarter of the year, deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia stated earlier today.

Gabunia said that if Pfizer offers an updated Covid vaccine, Georgia will also receive it per the new agreement.

Pfizer booster dose is required to effectively combat the Omicron strain of coronavirus.

Currently the strain and its sub-strains are dominant across the world, Georgia among them.
