Tamar Taliashvili, Georgia’s Ambassador to the Council of Europe, on Wednesday tweeted Tbilisi “strongly condemned” Russia’s intention to hold elections in Ukraine’s occupied territories on September 10.

“Georgia strongly condemns the intention of Russia to hold illegal elections of local ‘authorities’ in the  occupied regions of Ukraine. Unfortunately, Georgia has been a witness to the systematic conduct of illegal ‘elections’ in its occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions”, she said.

The elections have been scheduled in the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.
