The Georgian Prime Minister on Thursday said his Government was expecting a “rational and fair” decision from the European Union on the country’s EU candidacy after its “unfair rejection” last year.

In his press comments along with the Hungarian PM in the city of Telavi, Garibashvili said Ukraine and Moldova, which obtained the status last year, were “far behind” Georgia in “all directions”.

He stressed if the EU once again rejected the candidate status for Georgia, the move would be “uncreal and irrational”, and that Georgians were “unable” to tolerate injustice.

In his remarks, Garibashvili also hailed the Hungarian PM and his country for their “firm support” for Georgia’s EU integration, and stressed that holding the first intergovernmental summit marked a “historic day” in bilateral relations.
