Starting today foreign citizens will no longer need to present a vaccination certificate or a negative PCR test while entering the country.
Amendments to the Government Resolution on Isolation and Quarantine Rules were introduced on 14 June.
“Any individual coming from abroad (regardless of citizenship) is exempted from the obligation to submit a document confirming the full course of Covid vaccine or a negative PCR test made in the last 72 hours before the arrival,” said the amendment.
At different times, there were different types of restrictions on the entry of a foreign citizen into Georgia.
At the initial stage of the pandemic, with a few exceptions, it was impossible for a foreign national to enter Georgia, later it was necessary to go into isolation, and finally the rules required a certificate of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
Since February 26, 2020, when the first case of coronavirus infection was confirmed in Georgia, 1,658,755 cases have been registered by testing. 16,838 people have died from COVID-19 in Georgia since April 2020.
