Georgia not among 37 states banning Russia, Belarus from sport activities

The chairs of governing bodies of sports from 37 countries, including the United States, have stated Russia and Belarus must not be allowed to host, bid for, or be awarded any international sporting events in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine and Belarus’ support of Russia in the aggression.
Georgia Is not among signatories.
According to the decision, Individual athletes, administrators and teams selected by Russia and Belarus representing the Russian or Belarusian countries will be prohibited from competing in the countries, including the representatives of bodies, cities or brands that effectively represent Russia or Belarus, such as a major football club.
Per the document, appropriate measures should be taken to limit sponsorship and other financial support from entities related to the Russian or Belarusian states.
Signatories include the United States, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Croatia, France and other countries.
