Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday discussed cooperation and the 2024 Parliamentary elections with Pia Kauma, the newly appointed President of the Parliamentary Assembly (PA) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

In his comments, Garibashvili claimed the authorities “assign special importance to holding the transparent, free and fair parliamentary elections in compliance with international standards and best democratic practices of Europe”.

He added his office was ready to ensure the monitoring of the elections by representatives of various international organizations and institutions, including the OSCE PA.

The discussion also involved conflict issues and the positive recommendation of the European Commission to the Council last week to grant Georgia the bloc’s membership candidate status in December, the Government press office said.
