Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday highlighted Georgia’s “impressive achievement” of ranking 14th among more than 200 Olympic teams worldwide. He praised the national team, expressing gratitude to each member for their contributions to this “significant success” for the country.

Kobakhidze extended special congratulations to Lasha Bekauri for securing his second Olympic gold medal, fulfilling a promise he had made three years ago to win three Olympic golds. “Lasha’s achievement is extraordinary, and it brings immense pride to our nation,” the PM said. He also congratulated Tato Grigalashvili on winning the Olympic silver medal.

Looking ahead, Kobakhidze wished success to Georgian judoka Ilia Sulamandize and boxer Lasha Guruli, who will be competing today.
