Georgia has recorded 600 cases of a new strain of coronavirus dubbed as Omicron.

Georgian health officials say that the spread of the new variant will increase daily cases.

They have encouraged the public to get the coronavirus shot, while the risk groups should receive a booster dose.

The country has confirmed 4,234 new cases of coronavirus and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The daily infections and deaths still remain high in the country.

About 31 percent of the country’s adult population have been completely vaccinated since March 2021.
