Georgia reports 2,979 new cases of Covid, active cases stand at 38,624

Georgia has reported 2,979 new cases of coronavirus of 47,937 tests, 3,470 recoveries and 53 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

38,624 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of now.

The country has recorded 904,181 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020, of which 852,560 have recovered and 12,971 have died from the virus.

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows: 

Tbilisi – 1,325 cases 

Adjara – 229 cases 

Imereti – 493 cases

Kvemo Kartli – 135 cases 

Shida Kartli – 207 cases 

Guria – 109 cases 

Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 184 cases 

Kakheti – 137 cases

Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 81 cases

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 59 cases

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 20 cases

5,798 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today, while the majority of patients remain at home due to a mild form of the virus. 

1,063,784 individuals have been completely vaccinated in Georgia since March 2021.
