Georgia reports 4,743 new cases of Covid, active cases stand at 58,995

Georgia has reported 4,743 new cases of coronavirus earlier today which means that daily infections are still high in the country.
58,995 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
3,393 patients have recovered and 59 died from the virus in the country in the past 24 hours.
Georgia has had 506,040 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
440,370 of the 506,040 patients have recovered, while 6,649 have died from the virus so far.
Most of the new cases were reported in Tbilisi – 1,860 cases, Adjara – 677 cases and Imereti – 573 cases.
907,665 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country since March 2021, of which 266,962 individuals have been completely inoculated.
7,238 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals of the total 58,995, while others are at home or at Covid hotels.
Georgian health officials state that the situation ‘is critical’ and that soon hospitals may not be able to receive Covid-19 patients.
A field hospital in Didi Digomi district in Tbilisi for Covid-19 patients has not yet received patients.
The Delta variant of coronavirus is currently dominant in Georgia.
