Georgia reports 8,455 new cases of coronavirus, 120,437 remain infected

Georgia has recorded 8,455 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, while 120,437 individuals have the virus in the country as of now. 

36,918 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 22,936 rapid tests and 13,982 PCR tests.

The daily positivity rate as of yesterday is 22.9%, for the last 14 days – 29.17% and for the past seven days – 26.71%.

18,206 people recovered from the virus in the reported period, while the total number of people recovered increased to 1,447,969.

41 new cases of coronavirus deaths have been reported. A total of 16,022 people have died from the virus since April 2020.

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows:

Tbilisi – 3,548 cases, 

Adjara – 624, 

Imereti – 1 438, 

Kvemo Kartli – 363, 

Shida Kartli – 520, 

Guria – 358, 

Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 546, 

Kakheti – 664, 

Mtskheta -Mtianeti – 174, 

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 144, 

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 76.

5,096 people are undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
