Giorgi Margvelashvili, the fourth president of Georgia, has criticised the Georgian government’s actions as a “historical, geopolitical betrayal” against both the Georgian people and international partners. According to Margvelashvili, American partners have devised a clear strategy to address this situation.

“Our American partners have outlined a specific framework: either providing visa, economic, and military opportunities for the entire country or imposing sanctions and targeted punishment for individuals,” Margvelashvili stated.

He emphasised that resources should be reallocated, suggesting that any aid should be directed entirely to society rather than the government.

The LEADxSUMMIT 2024 international conference is currently being held in Tbilisi, focusing on topics such as Georgia’s European integration, the upcoming elections, and the actions of the Georgian Dream ruling party.
