Georgia’s former prosecutor general Zurab Adeishvili under the United National Movement government has been attacked in Kyiv, local media outlets reported yesterday.

According to reports, several individuals approached Adeishvili on the street and beat him.

Currently the former Georgian official who is an advisor of the Ukrainian prosecutor general, is under the surveillance of doctors in a hospital.

Ukrainian media says that the incident could be connected with Adeishvili’s previous activities while in office in Georgia.

Adeishvili, who is convicted and wanted for several crimes in Georgia, requested termination of his Georgian citizenship back in March 2021 as he received Ukrainian citizenship.

In 2020 Adeishvili was sentenced to 1.6 years in prison in absentia for illegal closure of Iberia TV back in 2004.He is also sentenced for illegal raid in Imedi TV in 2007 and for kidnapping and abuse of official authority.
