The National Bank of Georgia on Friday warned the population of frequent incidents of online phishing, stealing the money via fake web pages and links.
The bank urged the people to be cautious while entering their personal and banking data to various websites, verify and carefully observe the address of the website and check the validity of information with reliable companies.
“More specifically, such advertising offers are distributed, whose Internet links are similar to the addresses of real websites. In order to receive an attractive offer, the user visits the mentioned page and fills in the required information. In fact, the user shares personal, banking and/or other sensitive information with the website. There are also cases when users are offered to top up their mobile phone account cheaply”, said the NBG.
The bank called on the public to contact them [0322 406 406] in the case of additional questions.
