Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has claimed that Russia will not influence Georgia’s Saturday’s general elections, stating in a recent interview with Euronews that Russia “holds no sway” over the nation’s political or media landscape.

“I can say that Russia has no influence in Georgia. There are no political parties that [Russia] would influence. There is also no media influence. That is why Russia will not be able to exert any influence on the planned elections in Georgia,” Kobakhidze claimed.

The PM’s interview will air on Euronews at 23:00 Tbilisi time.
