Georgia’s special operations forces of the country’s defence forces on Tuesday marked the 23rd anniversary since its creation, with prime minister Irakli Garibashvli and other officials laying the foundation for its new infrastructure in the Mukhrovani base.

Addressing the servicemembers and praising their role, the PM said that the project was worth 70 million GEL and would include the construction of 24 new facilities on the base and the renovation of three other buildings over the course of two years.

He said that the new infrastructure would be in “full compliance” with NATO standards.
