Georgia will receive $35 million out of $713 million allocated by the United States to Ukraine and 15 other allies to strengthen their defense in face of threats coming from Russia.

The aid will include combat equipment, an anti-aircraft drone system, an advanced field artillery tactical data system, mobility capabilities and cyber defense,” the State Department said in an exclusive comment for VoA.

The decision over the funding was announced during the recent visit of the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in Kyiv on April 24.

Out of 713 million USD, Ukraine will receive 322 million, while the rest of the money will be distributed between the Balkans and Central and Eastern European countries.

According to the State Department, a notice for the allocation of funds was sent to Congress on April 24.

Georgia received $35 million from the United States through its military assistance program last year.
