Based on the agreement signed with the Turkish side, the defense forces will receive new NATO-standard armored personnel carriers. The representatives of the Turkish company were hosted at the Ministry of Defence on Friday.

“Within the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and the company ASFAT under the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, on the basis of which new high-terrain armored personnel carriers will be delivered to the defense forces. Armored personnel carriers with their equipment and subsystems comply with NATO standards.

“Equipping the Defense Forces of Georgia with the mentioned armored personnel carriers will significantly contribute to the strengthening of Georgia’s defense capabilities and the deepening of cooperation between Turkey and Georgia,” the Ministry of Defence said.
