Georgian Ambassador to the EU Vato Makharoblishvili has met with MEP Viola von Cramon following the Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili’s recent statement that ‘not MEPs, Georgian people are my chief.’

Makharoblishvili tweeted that ongoing important issues related to reforms and elections have been discussed with Cramon, adding that the European Parliament’s interest in Georgian politics is much appreciated.

Cramon has criticized the Georgian government and the ruling party for their refusal to receive the second portion of the EU’s 150 million euro loan and the withdrawal from April 2021 EU-mediated agreement.
