Georgian, Azerbaijani top officials hail 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev on Friday responded to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between their countries. 

 

“Congratulations to Azerbaijani Government and people on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Together, we have achieved much. Georgia is proud of its close friendship and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan. Look forward to further pursuing regional cooperation, peace and prosperity”, Garibashvili tweeted. 

 

In his letter to Garibashvili, Aliyev stated that existing cooperation was based on “mutual respect and trust” and that relations were developing “dynamically”. 

 

He also pointed to “great opportunities to increase the economic potential of our region”.
