Ivane Iluridze, a Georgian citizen who has been illegally arrested by the Russian-controlled occupation forces in central Georgia, has been released, the Georgian State Security Service said on Friday.

The body noted the European Union Monitoring Mission had been engaged in the process along with the central Government.

“The central Government, together with international partners, continues to work actively to release all citizens of Georgia who are illegally imprisoned in the occupied territories”, SSS said, and added Russia was “responsible” for all illegal actions in the occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions.
