Nektarios Mchedlidze, a Georgian cleric in Ukraine, has requested the transfer of Spartak Lekiashvili, a Georgian volunteer severely injured in an explosion by Russian troops, to abroad for rehabilitation.

In his comments this week, the cleric claimed Ukrainian medical workers had done their “utmost” to save the young volunteer, who came out of a three-month coma, with both his arms and legs paralyzed and eyesight lost.

Mchedlidze said no proper rehabilitation support was possible in Ukraine, and the volunteer must be transferred abroad for the goal, and added the volunteer had a mother in Georgia, who was unable to arrive in Ukraine due to the lack of necessary funds.
