The ruling Geogian Dream MP Irakli Khakhubia was found dead in his home in Tbilisi early on Thursday, with police looking into the incident for driving suicidee.

The lawmaker allegedly committed suicidee and a firearm has been seized from the scene.

In May 2017, the son of Irakli Khakhubia, 21-year-old Beka Khakhubia, died in a car accident.

Due to disobedience, the patrol police officers blocked the road with a truck, which Khakhubia crashed into with his own car. The court found two police officers guilty and sentenced them to prison for the deadly incident.

Relatives said that the MP had suffered health issues since then.
