Shota Arveladze, a well-known Georgian footballer, who last week featured in a charity match in support of Ukraine at Chelsea’s home field, on Monday called for matches in Georgia with the involvement of world football legends.
“We want to start a new project and hold a match in Georgia at least once a season with the participation of world football legends. The host team will be the national team of Georgia, in which veteran football players will play”, Arveladze said in his social media post.
“We have already started negotiations with the teams and will inform you about the date of the match in a short period of time”, he added.
Arveladze stressed that initial matches would carry the idea of “mutual encouragement and support”, noting “I think in difficult times, we need to find more in common.I am sure many people, companies and brands will unite around our idea and goal”.
